St Michael's Primary School

Together we achieve

School Meals, Snacks and Dinner Money

Meals are provided at the school by Chartwell Catering. When menus change we send each family a copy. The children choose which meal they would like at the beginning of each school day.  Children may also bring packed lunches and are also allowed to buy drinks and snacks. Water is always available.

As Teachers’ Conditions of Service do not allow them to handle the administration of dinner money, children need to bring their dinner money to school each day in a small named envelope, container or purse.  Kitchen staff will process the payments and provide your child with change in the same returned named envelope, container or purse.

As part of the Healthy Schools Policy Key Stage 2 children are encouraged to bring a piece of fruit to eat during the mid-morning break. Key stage 1 children currently have fruit supplied under a government scheme.

The school encourages the children to keep their fluid levels up by providing chilled drinking water. Small unbreakable bottles are allowed, and the children can top them up at suitable intervals during the day.
